In general, the trend is towards adaptive streaming - a new streaming format. Instead of a continuous stream with always the same transmission rate, data packets are sent and the data transmission rate is adapted to the actual internet connection every few seconds.

From our point of view, adaptive streaming seems to be more promising for the future than manual adjustment.
