A stream at 128 kbit/s uses around 70 MB of data per hour; higher bitrates consume proportionally more. The actual data usage depends solely on the stream quality provided by the station, not on the app itself.
More and more stations are now switching to adaptive streaming, which adjusts the stream’s quality and bitrate based on the user’s internet connection. This helps minimize data usage while maintaining a stable listening experience. Our iOS and Android apps already support adaptive streaming.
For extended listening, we still recommend using a Wi-Fi connection to conserve your mobile data.
