How much data does listening use up?

When listening to a 128 kbit/s stream, approx. 70 MB are transferred per hour. This is less for smaller streams (e.g. 64 or 32 kbit/s bit rate) and more for larger streams (> 256 kbit/s).

Please make sure to tap Stop and end the streaming when you no longer want to listen, if consumption is important to you.

More and more stations are switching to an adaptive streaming format, which adapts the quality and bit rate of the stream to the user's internet connection. In these cases, the data used is therefore also dependent on the internet connection - and ensures that as little data as possible is used. Our iOS and Android apps already support adaptive streaming.
